In the urban context of Milan, within a rationalist building, an interior design project confronts the strength and rigidity of the original structure. The clients, a professional couple, requested a complete redesign of the apartment, which had previously been renovated without considering the stylistic logic of the building. The intervention takes on an almost corrective nature: not simply a reorganization of spaces, but a reconciliation between structure and living. Pillars, partitions, and structural rhythms, once concealed, are brought back to the center of the composition and become the ordering elements of the new layout. A rigorous yet contemporary reading of the rationalist legacy — clear proportions, defined hierarchies, carefully balanced relationships between solids and voids — defines a precise stylistic identity: geometric forms and bold black-and-white contrasts, warmed by caramel tones. Without intervening on the walls, metals, fabrics, and light intertwine in a harmonious, warm, and contemporary whole. An essential domestic space where structure once again becomes the foundation of living.
